Affidavit of service filed on behalf of the petitioner is taken on record.
The petitioner is in custody for more than hundred days. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that there was an extra marital relation between the defacto complainant and the petitioner which turned sour subsequently leading to the present complaint. The money that was paid by the victim was transferred to the accounts of the co-accused who are on bail. The petitioner prays for bail.
Learned counsel for the State and the defacto complainant oppose the prayer.
I have considered the material on record which prima facie demonstrates that the petitioner engaged the victim as a caretaker in his house and ravished her on several occasions. Her videos were
taken and she had been blackmailed into parting with huge amount of money. The petitioner appears to be a habitual offender and statement of another victim who fell prey to the conduct of the petitioner was recorded under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure and prima facie reveals that the petitioner sexually assaulted her and extorted money from her by threatening to upload her intimate images in the social media.
Considering the nature and gravity of the offence and prima facie involvement of the petitioner therein, the prayer for bail is rejected at this stage.
The application for bail is disposed of.
