Mr. Biswanath Chakrabarti Mr. Krishnendu Bera ... for the petitioners Mr. Suddhadev Adak ... for the State Learned advocate for the petitioners submits that the first petitioner is an 83-year-old person. He lodged an FIR being Bud Bud Police Station Case No.36/2021 under Sections 419/420/467/468/491/341/506/120B of the Penal Code. In the said FIR he had alleged forgery of documents. However, till date the investigation could not be concluded.

Learned advocate for the State relies on the report filed in a sealed cover and submits that after completion of investigation all the examined documents along with expert report were sent to the Officer-in-Charge of Bud Bud Police Station with a memo dated 23.02.2023. Therefore, now it will not take much time for the investigating agency to conclude the investigation. The report filed by the State is kept in a sealed cover. In view of the fact that a report has already been obtained regarding the documents in question from the expert, it would not take more time to conclude the investigation.

In view of the above, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction upon the investigating officer to conclude the investigation expeditiously and in accordance with law.

Urgent certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
