1. By way of this public interest litigation the petitioner has submitted the representation to the authorities stating that a road which has been maintained by the Public Works Department has been encroached and there is a severe obstruction and hindrance to smooth ingress and egress by the public at large.

2. In this regard a representation has been given on 01.04.2024 which is said to have been delivered in the office of the concerned respondents on 03.04.2024.

3. However, we find that a reasonable time has not been granted to the authorities to consider the representation and the petitioner has rushed to this court.

However, considering the nature of allegations, without going into the merits of the same, there will be a direction to the 7th respondent, namely,

the Executive Engineer, P.W. Roads, Directorate Murshidabad Highway Division No.1, C.R. Das Road, Berhampore, Murshidabad to consider the representation, conduct an inspection of the area and take action in accordance with law after notice to all concerned.

5. The above direction be complied with within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of the server copy of this order.

6. With the above observation, the writ petition stands disposed of.
