The petitioner is a tenant under the respondent nos. 3 to 6. It is alleged that when the petitioner was out of station, the respondent nos. 3 to 6 broke open the lock of the tenanted premises, took forceful possession thereof, and also took away the goods and articles which were lying in the tenanted property. The petitioner filed a complaint before the Beniapukur Police Station.

The Officer-in-Charge, Beniapukur Police Station has filed a report. It appears that pursuant to the complaint lodged by the petitioner, a formal F.I.R. has been registered vide Beniapukur Police Station case no.

dated June 13, under Section 448/427/380/34 of the Indian Penal Code against the

respondent nos. 3,4 and 5. The investigation is under progress.

The police report is taken on record.

Upon such submissions on behalf of the police authorities, this Court is of the view that the Officerin-Charge, Beniapukur Police Station must conclude the investigation expeditiously, preferably within a period of three weeks from the date of communication of this order.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police, South-East Division, shall ensure compliance of this order. This writ petition is disposed of.

However, there will be no order as to costs.

All the parties are directed to act on the basis of the server copy of this order.
