Mirza Firoz Ahmed Begg ......For the State It is the case of the petitioner that in spite of two orders passed by this Court for expeditious hearing of the trial, the hearing of the said case did not proceed much; so far only one witness has been examined out of the eight witnesses. Mrs.

Sukanya Bhattacharyya, learned advocate, who generally appears for the State, is requested to appear in this matter for the State. Let her appointment be regularised. In this pandemic situation, it is not expected that the learned Magistrate in the Court below will proceed with trial at the normal pace.

However, this revisional application is disposed of with a direction upon the Special Court (NDPS) at Malda to make an endeavour to conclude the trial as expeditiously as possible, preferably, within a period of one year from the date of resumption of the normal functioning of the Court.
