Report submitted by the State is taken on record. The petitioner seeks expeditious disposal of GR 9498 of 2014 pending before the learned Judicial Magistrate, 4th Court, Howrah. This Court is informed that charge has been framed on 18th September, 2017. Witness action has not commenced as yet. It appears from the report submitted by the State that the complainant/CSW 1 did not turn up for adducing evidence on several dates fixed by the learned trial Court.

In view of the pendency of the proceeding since 2014, the learned trial Court is directed to take necessary steps for securing the attendance of the witnesses and take the proceeding to its logical conclusion within one year from the next date of hearing fixed before him, without granting any unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties, in accordance with law.

CRR 1656 of 2024 is disposed of.
