The petitioner says that she is in custody for about six years and five months. There is no possibility of the trial coming to an early conclusion. Her prayer for bail was rejected once on April 5, 2016. More than five years have elapsed since then. She should be enlarged on bail.

Learned Counsel for the State apprises us that fifteen out of twenty witnesses have been examined already. The 16th witness is in the process of being examined.

We have considered the material in the case diary. The charge is serious, i.e., kidnapping a girl and then forcing her into prostitution.

On an overall assessment of the material on record and the nature and gravity of the charge, we are not inclined to allow the petitioner's prayer for bail.

C.R.M. No.4507 of 2021 is, accordingly, dismissed. However, in view of the very lengthy detention of the petitioner, we request the learned Trial Court to expedite the trial as much as possible and conclude the same as soon as possible and preferably within a period of six months from date.
