1. Matter is heard in presence of the learned advocates representing petitioner, respondent nos. 2 and 3 as well as respondent nos. 7 to 19.

Jayanta Samanta, learned advocate representing respondent nos. 2 and 3 has filed a report dated 20th May, 2026 of Inspector-inCharge, Raniganj Police Station, Asansol Durgapur Police Commissionerate being respondent no. 3 along with certain documents and same is taken on record. Copy of report dated 20th May, 2026 is made over to the learned advocate representing petitioner.

3. It is disclosed in the report dated 20th May, 2026 that police protection as directed by this

Court vide order dated 2nd April, 2026 is provided to the petitioner and one constable is deputed beside the residence of the petitioner to provide safety and security to the petitioner and her family members.

4. It also appears from the report dated 20th May, 2026 that certain steps are taken by the investigating agency in connection with Raniganj P.S. Case No. 79/2026 dated 11th March, 2026 and one person was taken into custody on 11th May, 2026. Investigating agency is directed to expedite the investigation in connection with Raniganj P.S. Case No.

79/2026 dated 11th March, 2026 and report is required to be submitted before the jurisdictional Magistrate at an early date.

5. To see the steps taken by the police authorities to take investigation to its logical conclusion matter is posted for further consideration under the heading 'Motion' on 1st July, 2026.

6. Respondent no. 3 is directed to furnish further report on the next date.

7. In view of compliance of order dated 2nd April, 2026 contempt application being CPAN 610 of 2026 is disposed of and contempt proceeding stands dropped.

8. Commissioner of Police, Asansol Durgapur Police Commissionerate being respondent no. 2 is also directed to file a separate report on the next date.

9. Order dated 7th May, 2026 requires correction since in the cause title of the order dated 7th May, 2026 it was inadvertently transcribed that learned advocate appeared on behalf of respondent nos. 2 to 19 instead of respondent nos. 7 to 19.

10. Mr. Apurba Kumar Datta, Learned advocate appeared on behalf of respondent nos. 7 to 19 on 7th May, 2026.

11. Department is directed to incorporate necessary correction in the cause title of order dated 7th May, 2026 by 7 (seven) days after Summer Vacation.
