Heard the learned Counsels appearing on behalf of the parties.

Petitioner is in custody for about 140 days. There is no direct evidence connecting him with the alleged crime. Learned Advocate for the State opposes the prayer for bail.

We have considered the materials on record including the leading statement of the petitioner and co-accused which led to recovery of the dead body of the victim.

In view of the aforesaid incriminating materials and the gravity of the offence, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner at this stage.

Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected.
