The Block Development Officer, Mr. Amit Kumar Gayan is present in Court.

It appears that the order of this Court has been complied with. A reasoned order has been passed after hearing the parties and the issues involved. It was directed that the applicant shall be provided with drinking water connection, immediately. The village committee was directed to arrange the necessary water connection to the applicant from the submersible pump within three days from receipt of the order. The applicant was instructed to submit the onetime charge as well as monthly rent as would be ascertained by the Sabhapati/Secretary of the committee. The Pradhan of Balluk-II Gram Panchayat was instructed to ensure necessary water connection.

It is submitted that the applicant's water connection has been supplied.

This Court had only directed the Block Development Officer to intervene and ensure that the basic amenities

provided by the panchayat, should be available to the petitioner. Apart from the water connection, non-supply of other basic amenities have not been complained of. The dispute with the villagers and the social boycott which the villagers have initiated against the applicant are not to be decided by the alleged contemnor. A civil suit is also pending. The applicant is at liberty to take all these points in the civil suit. If any of the villagers either assaults or intimidates the applicant, he has other remedy under the provisions of law. Accordingly, the contempt application is disposed of. Contempt proceedings are dropped. Personal appearance is dispensed with.
