The petitioners allege that no decision has been communicated to the petitioners pursuant to the representation dated March 30, 2023 praying for allowing the petitioner-association to hold and continue with the peaceful demonstration.

Today, when the matter is taken up, Mr. Mitra, learned Advocate representing the State submits that the prayer of the petitioner-association for holding sit-in demonstration day and night, that is, for twenty-four hours has been rejected. Mr. Mitra is directed to supply a copy of the order rejecting such prayer of the petitioner-association in course of this day. Since the prayer for sit-in demonstration made by the petitioner-association vide letter dated

March 30, 2023 has been rejected, the petitioners have to challenge such decision.

In view thereof, this writ petition is disposed of by giving liberty to the petitioner-association to challenge the order rejecting the prayer for sit-in demonstration in accordance with law, if so advised. There will be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities.
