The petitioner is in custody for about ten months and prays for bail.

Learned counsel for the State opposes the prayer. I have considered the material on record.

The petitioner has been implicated as one of the principal assailants in the statement of witnesses recorded under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. Bail prayer of the co-accused similarly circumstanced with the petitioner has been turned down by this Court on 4th March, 2025. The petitioner being on the same footing does not deserve a favourable order at this stage. His prayer for bail is rejected at this stage.

The application for bail is disposed of.
