Petitioner is in custody for 546 days. He submits defacto complainant had turned hostile. Accordingly, he prays for bail.

Learned Advocate for the State opposes the bail prayer. He submits trial is at its fag end. All prosecution witnesses except investigating officer have been examined. 3.

We have considered the materials on record. Offences, if proved, would attract mandatory life imprisonment. Trial is at its fag end.

Under such circumstances, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.

Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected.

We request the trial court to conclude the trial at an early date preferably within three months from the next date fixed for recording evidence without granting unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties.
