Despite service, none appears on behalf of the respondent no.5.

This writ petition has been filed for a direction upon the respondent nos.2 and 3 to hold the election of Natungram Samabay Krishi Unnayan Samity Limited. The petitioners are the members of the samity. It is submitted that the tenure of the board will expire on July 17, 2022. The petitioners have already approached the Assistant Registrar of Co-operative Society.

It appears that a Special Officer has been proposed to be appointed after the expiry of the board.

Under such circumstances, without going into the order of appointment of the Special Officer and the prayers in the writ petition, this Court is of the view that the respondent nos.2 and 3 must take all necessary steps for holding election of the co-operative society, in accordance with law.

Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of. However, there will be no order as to costs.

All the parties are directed to act on the basis of the server copy of this order.
