Md. Kutubuddin ..for the petitioner Mr. Kanak Kiran Bandyopadhyay ..for WBSEDCL The petitioner seeks an electricity connection for his submersible pump set.

The learned advocate representing the petitioner submits that the petitioner has already deposited a sum of Rs. 7,095/- as quoted by the West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (WBSEDCL). The learned advocate appearing for WBSEDCL submits that the relevant plot, on which the submersible pump set is located, is not exclusively owned by the petitioner. There are several co-sharers of the said plot who have objected to the proposed electricity connection. It is further submitted that the proposed connection is not techno-economically viable. A communication in this regard was conveyed to the petitioner by way of a letter dated April 5, 2022, issued by WBSEDCL.

However, the learned advocate for the petitioner contends that the electricity connection could feasibly be

effected from an existing transformer installed in the vicinity.

In light of the aforementioned disputes, I am not inclined to keep this writ petition pending.

The petitioner shall submit a representation before the said Regional Grievance Redressal Officer within two weeks from the date hereof.

The Regional Grievance Redressal Officer shall examine the issue of whether the electricity connection to the petitioner's submersible pump set can be effected from an existing transformer in the vicinity. The officer shall afford an opportunity of hearing to both the petitioner and the representative of WBSEDCL prior to arriving at a decision.

A reasoned order shall be communicated to the petitioner.

Accordingly, WPA 10396 of 2025 is disposed of. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the learned advocates for the parties on usual undertakings.
