Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody since 17.07.2025 and charges have been framed. The evidence of the case has progressed. Additionally, it has been submitted that two of the seizure list witnesses have been declared hostile. As such, petitioner may be released on bail.

Learned advocate appearing for the State, on the other hand, opposes the prayer for bail and submits that 171.69 grams of Yaba tablets has been recovered and out of 13 witnesses cited in the charge-sheet, 8 witnesses have already been examined.

Since the case is at the advanced stage, I direct the learned Trial Court to complete the evidence of the prosecution witnesses within a period of six months from the next date fixed.

At this stage, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected.

The application for bail, being CRM (NDPS) 966 of 2026, is, thus, disposed of.

Memo of Evidence submitted by the learned advocate appearing for the State be kept with the record. Mr. Rajendra Banerjee, learned APP along with Mr. Sankalpa Bhattacharjee, learned advocate is directed to appear for the State. Their appointment may be regularised by the concerned authorities.

All concerned parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
