Mr. Bidyut Halder Mr. Indranil Halder ..for the petitioner Ms. Sumouli Sarkar ..for CESC Limited The petitioner seeks commercial electricity connection for her shoproom.

Learned advocate representing Calcutta Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC) Limited submits that connection could not be effected due to resistance from respondent nos. 4 and 5.

Despite service, respondent nos. 4 and 5 are not represented.

Let the affidavit of service filed by the petitioner be kept with the records.

Since the possession of the petitioner over the shop room in question is not in dispute, there cannot be any justification to deny the electricity connection for the shop room.

Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of giving a direction upon the CESC Limited to effect electricity connection within a period of three weeks from date

subject to compliance with all necessary formalities by the petitioner.

The Officer-in-Charge of Bhadreswar Police Station shall render necessary assistance to the officials of CESC Limited for implementation of this order.

The police will be at liberty to break open the padlock of the existing meter board, if necessary. The cost of such police assistance shall be borne by the petitioner.

Accordingly, WPA 10406 of 2025 is disposed of. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the learned advocates for the parties on usual formalities.
