Hasna ...... for the State Petitioner renews his prayer for bail and submits there is slow progress in the matter since the last rejection of bail by this court.

Learned lawyer for the State opposes the prayer for bail. We have considered materials on record disclosing prima facie involvement of the petitioner in subjecting a minor to penetrative sexual assault.

In view of the gravity of the offence, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.

Accordingly, the prayer for bail is rejected. However, keeping in mind the period of detention suffered by the petitioner, we request the trial court to consider the issue of framing of charge at the earliest preferably within seven days from the next date fixed before the said court and thereafter to take the proceeding to its logical conclusion as expeditiously as possible.
