1. Affidavit-of-service filed in Court today be taken on record.

2. The petitioner seeks to hold a meeting near Ambedkar Statue near to Red Road on 29th April, 2023. The petitioner wishes to hold a meeting of tribal and persons of the minority community.

3. The police have objected to the said meeting on the principal ground that there is a cricket match fixed at the Eden Gardens, adjacent to the venue, on the said date at 3:30 P.M. The police deployment by 12:30 P.M. on the said date. The police apprehend that the Red Road, a major and important thoroughfare in the city, could be restricted and hence the permission for the said meeting was denied.

4. Mr. Chakraborty, Counsel for the petitioner, submits that his client shall wind up the meeting by 12 Noon or thereabouts on the said day, around the

same time as deployment of the police shall occur for the purpose of manning the cricket match and number of persons thereat.

5. The petitioner shall try to restrict their number of participants to 3000 and shall not in any way obstruct any vehicular movement on the Red Road. The petitioner shall hold a peaceful meeting and shall clean up the venue after the meeting is over.

6. With the aforesaid directions, the instant writ petition shall stand disposed of.

7. There will be no order as to costs.

8. All parties are directed to act on a server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
