It is submitted by the Counsel for the petitioner that there are as many as 19 cases pending against the respondent no.6, who is presently in custody. It is further submitted that the petitioner has committed crimes against a large number of women, impersonating Government Officials, Police Officers etc. and cheated them into marrying him.

The complainants were not only physically abused but also made to part with substantial sums of money, jewellery, ornaments and cash.

It is submitted by the Counsel for the State that the he has received information from the official of the Singur Police Station, who is present in Court, that a charge-sheet being C.S. No. 165 of 2021 dated 16.07.2021 has been filed against the respondent no.6.

This Court directs that committal proceeding against the respondent no.6, be commenced as early as possible and trial against the respondent no.6 be completed within a period of eight months from the date of communication of a copy of this order. In view of the above, the instant writ petition shall stand disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.

All parties are directed to act on a server copy of this order on usual undertakings.
