The petitioner is the existing lease holder in respect of Shawratala Ferry Ghat under Raghunathganj-I & II Block under the Murshidabad Zilla Parishad.

The lease of the petitioner is valid till 14th September, 2022.

The Murshidabad Zilla Parishad issued a notice inviting E-auction on 31st May, 2022 for leasing out the Ferry Ghat for a period of three years on and from 15th September, 2022 to 14th September, 2025.

The petitioner submits that he is interested to participate in the said E-auction but he seeks some time within which he can deposit the security deposit amount.

Learned advocate appearing for the Murshidabad Zilla Parishad submits, upon instructions, that the auction end date which was today (06.07.2022) at 2 P.M., has been deferred as the authority has not received enough bids.

As it appears that the Zilla Parishad has already taken a decision to defer the auction end date, accordingly, there is no requirement of passing any order in the writ petition at present.

The petitioner will be at liberty to participate in the E-auction within the extended time period upon compliance of all necessary formalities.

The writ petition stands disposed of.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order be supplied to the parties, if applied for, as early as possible.
