The petitioner says that less than commercial quantity of ganja was recovered from him.

The seizure list shows that 25 kgs. of ganja was recovered jointly from the two accused persons including the petitioner.

In view of commercial quantity of contraband items being involved and in view of the restrictions in Section 37 of the N.D.P.S. Act, we are not inclined to entertain the petitioner's prayer for bail.

CRM 4594 of 2021 is, accordingly, dismissed.

The petitioner says that he is in custody for 1296 days. We are told that two witnesses have already been examined.

We request the learned Trial Court to expedite the trial to the extent possible and bring the same to its logical conclusion as soon as the business of the Court may permit and, preferably, within a year from date, keeping in view the already lengthy detention of the petitioner.
