None appears for the petitioners.

The writ petition was preferred as the Officerin-Charge, Junput Coastal Police Station did not respond to the information furnished on 23.03.2024. The main grievance of the petitioners as was furnished by way of a written information was to the effect that the petitioners were not allowed for peaceful cultivation as well as harvesting paddy in respect of the land and as such, requested the police authorities to take appropriate steps against the private respondents. As none appears on behalf of the State, Ms. Tanima Sengupta, learned advocate, who ordinarily appears for the State, is directed to represent the State. Her appointment may be regularised by the concerned authorities.

Having considered the nature of the dispute complained to the police authorities, I am of the view that the police authorities would only oversee that no untoward incident results because of the inimical relationship existing between the petitioners and the private respondents.

With the aforesaid observations, the writ petition being WPA 11425 of 2024 is disposed of. There will be no order as to costs.

All concerned parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
