The petitioner is a retired employee of Bogdadnagar Gram Panchayat. By an order of this Court dated September 15, 2020 passed in WPA No. 6739 of 2020, a Co-ordinate Bench directed the Block Development Officer, Samserganj, Murshidabad, to transmit the records to the appropriate authority with regard to sanction and payment of the pensionary benefits to the petitioner. Contempt proceedings were taken out and thereafter the order of the court was complied with and the Pension Payment Order was issued by the appropriate authority for release of the pensionary benefits and gratuity of the petitioner. The PPO mentions monthly pension of the petitioner as Rs. 14,065/- with effect from February 1, 2020. It is the contention of the petitioner that on February 9, 2021, Rs.10,09,695/- and 3,93,000/- have been credited to the bank account of the petitioner. The petitioner
submits that the break up/head of the sum has not been supplied to the petitioner although, several requests have been made. It is further contended that the pension for the months of February and March, 2021 have been paid at the rate of Rs. 10,968/- and Rs. 9,361/- respectively. It is alleged that subsequent remittance of pensions have also been less than the amount mentioned in the PPO.
A detailed representation has already been made by the petitioner before the Directorate of Pension, Provident Fund & Group Insurance, Government of West Bengal on April 2, 2021 and thereafter on May 4, 2021. Such representations have not been disposed of.
The writ petition is disposed of with a direction upon the Director of Pension, Provident Fund & Group Insurance, Government of West Bengal to dispose of the representation of the petitioner being annexures P4 and P5 to the writ petition, expeditiously and in accordance with law upon hearing the petitioner.
reasoned order shall be passed and communicated to the petitioner. The entire exercise should be completed within a period of 8 weeks from the date of communication of this order.
There will be no order as to costs.
