Mr. Indranil Halder ..for the petitioner Ms. Suvasree Ghose ..for CESC Limited The petitioner raises a billing dispute concerning a bill dated March 2025. The petitioner apprehends that non-payment of the amount stated in the disputed bill may result in the disconnection of her electricity connection.

It is submitted that the petitioner has filed a representation before the Grievance Redressal Officer of the Calcutta Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC) Limited; however, the concerned officer has not taken any action to date.

Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the Grievance Redressal Officer of CESC Limited, respondent no. 3, to dispose of the representation appearing at page 11 of the writ petition within a period of three weeks from the date of communication of this order.

The Grievance Redressal Officer shall provide the petitioner an opportunity to be heard and shall pass a reasoned order accordingly.

In the interim, the petitioner's electricity connection shall not be disconnected for a period of one month or until a decision is rendered by the Grievance Redressal Officer, whichever is earlier.

Accordingly, WPA 10475 of 2025 is disposed of.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the learned advocates for the parties on usual undertakings.
