The petitioner is one out of eight accused persons. All are in custody. The charge is that of kidnapping for ransom. The petitioner says that he is in custody for seven years. We have seen the material in the Case Diary. It prima facie clearly implicates the petitioner. The recording of evidence is over. Learned State Counsel says that the case is in the midst of argument.

Given the nature and gravity of the charge and the material on record and the fact that the trial is coming to an end, we are not inclined to allow the petitioner's prayer for bail at this stage.

Accordingly, the application for bail being C.R.M. 4627 of 2021 is dismissed.

However, in view of the very long period of detention of the petitioner, we request the learned trial Court to conclude the

trial as soon as possible and preferably within four months from date.
