The petitioner is in custody for about 2 years and prays for bail. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that two lady co-accused have been granted bail and one of the co-accused is still absconding. There is little chance of completion of trial in near future.

Learned counsel for the State opposes the prayer. I have considered the material on record.

The statement of the defacto complainant under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure implicates the petitioner.

Considering the gravity of offence and involvement of the petitioner therein, prayer for bail is rejected at this stage. The application for bail is disposed of.
