And In Re : Manik Biswas Mr. Prabir Majumder Amanul Islam ... For the Petitioner.
Mr. Sanjay Bardhan Mr. Subhajit Chowdhury ... For the State Supplementary affidavit filed by the petitioner is taken on record.
Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody for about 172 days. Charge sheet has been submitted. His further detention is not required. Learned counsel for the State opposes the prayer. I have considered the material on record.
It appears from the statement of the victim lady recorded under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure that she entered the State in search of a job and was picked up by the petitioner who engaged her in prostitution.
Considering the material on record and prima facie involvement of the petitioner in the alleged offence, prayer for bail is rejected at this stage.
The application for bail is disposed of.
Case diary be returned.
Urgent certified website copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
