Heard the learned Counsels appearing on behalf of the parties.

Having considered the materials on record prima facie disclosing involvement of the petitioner in the murder, we are of the opinion that in view of the gravity of the offence, this is not a fit case to grant bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected.

In view of the protracted period of detention suffered by the petitioner i.e. over three years, we direct the trial court to promptly consider the issue of framing of charge and in the event charge is framed to take the matter to its logical conclusion at the earliest without granting any unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties.
