Counsel for the petitioner submits that due to political rivalry, the brother of the petitioner was killed.

Chakdaha Police have registered an FIR being Police Station Case No. 166 of 2021 dated 18th April, 2021, inter alia, under Sections 302 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code.

It is submitted that two persons have been arrested and investigation is still on.

It is, therefore, directed that the investigation be completed within the statutory period.

Since the petitioner feels threatened and insecure, the Officer-in-charge, Chakdaha Police Station shall post a police picket outside the residence of the petitioner within a period of ten days from date.

Since the respondents have not used any affidavit, the allegations made therein shall not be deemed to have been admitted by them.

With the aforesaid directions, the instant writ petition shall stand disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.

All parties are directed to act on a server copy of this order on usual undertakings.
