A week's adjournment is sought on the ground of illness of learned counsel for the petitioners. 2.

However, learned counsel for the Election Commission of India submits that the vote in respect of which the present writ petition has been preferred is scheduled to be held today; as such, the writ petition has been rendered infructuous. 3.

It transpires upon a perusal of the writ petition that it pertains to appointment of the respective petitioners in the process of conduct of elections in the district of Malda today.

Since the election itself is scheduled to be held today as is not going on, the writ petition loses its efficacy and is made redundant by virtue of the election being held.

Accordingly, WPA 11531 of 2024 is disposed of as infructuous without any order as to cost.

Urgent photostat copies of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
