Pursuant to the order dated 18th May, 2026, matter is taken up for consideration in presence of the learned advocates representing the petitioner and the State respondents.

Mr. Sukanta Chakraborty, learned advocate representing the State respondents has filed a communication dated 20th May, 2026 of Officer-in-Charge, Narayangarh Police Station, Paschim Medinipur and same is taken on record. Copy of the said communication dated 20th May, 2026 is made over to the learned advocate representing the petitioner.

It is disclosed in the communication dated 20th May, 2026 that based on the complaint dated 5th May, 2026, a criminal prosecution being Narayangarh P.S. Case No.120 of 2026 dated 5th May, 2026 was initiated under certain provisions of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023. It is further disclosed in the communication that statements of the witnesses were also recorded under Section 180 of BNSS, 2023 and one accused was already arrested on 18th May, 2026.

From the communication dated 20th May, 2026, it appears that certain steps are being taken by the concerned police authority on receipt of complaint on 5th May, 2026. 5.

Concerned police authority is directed to take the investigation in connection with the aforesaid criminal prosecution into logical conclusion by taking necessary steps.

Concerned police authorities are also directed to maintain peace and tranquility at the locale and keep vigil. 7.

Writ petition stands disposed of.
