The petitioner has filed the instant application for bail under Section 439 of the Code of Criminal Procedure after being arrested in connection with Singur Police Station Case No. 197 of 2019 dated 06.07.2019 under Sections 20(b)(ii)(c) of the N.D.P.S. Act. In view of the fact that from the joint possession of the petitioner contraband article above the commercial quantity was recovered and considering the embargo contained under Section 37 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, we are not inclined to release the petitioner on bail.

The prayer for bail is thus rejected.

However, it is submitted by the learned Advocate for the petitioner that charges have already been framed and the case is pending for trial.

Therefore, the learned Special Judge under N.D.P.S. Act, is requested to fix the dates for examination of the witnesses and come to the logical conclusion of this case expeditiously. The application for bail being CRM 4657 of 2021 is thus dismissed.
