Heard the learned Counsels appearing on behalf of the parties.

Petitioner is in custody for more than ten years and he prays for bail.

Learned Advocate for the State opposes the prayer for bail and submits that the trial is at its fag end and only one witness is to be examined.

Keeping in mind the incriminating evidence on record and the gravity of the offence and as the trial at its fag end, we are not inclined in granting bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected.

However, we direct the trial court to expedite the trial and conclude the same as expeditiously as possible preferably within three months from the next date fixed for recording

evidence without granting any unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties.
