Heard the learned Counsels appearing on behalf of the parties.

Petitioner is in custody for more than four years. He submits there is very slow progress in the trial of the case. Learned Advocate for the State opposes the prayer for bail and submits that bail prayer of the petitioner was rejected in February, 2022.

We have considered the materials on record. Allegations against the petitioner are grave. That apart, his bail prayer was rejected in February, 2022 and there is hardly any change in circumstance since then.

Keeping in mind the aforesaid facts and in view of the gravity of the offence, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.

Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected.

However, we direct the trial court to conclude the trial at an early date without granting any unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties.
