The petitioner is the widowed daughter of a deceased College Teacher. The College Teacher expired on 7th July, 2019. The petitioner made application before the Director of Public Instruction by a letter dated 19th April, 2021 seeking family pension. The petitioner in the said representation has relied upon orders passed by this Court from time to time, which according to her are in her support. The said representation is yet to be disposed of by the respondent authorities.

As it appears that the prayer of the petitioner for grant of family pension is pending consideration at the end of the Director of Public Instruction, no useful purpose will be served by keeping the writ petition pending.

The writ petition is accordingly disposed of by directing the respondent No. 4 being the Director of

Public Instruction to take steps for disposal of the representation filed by the petitioner strictly in accordance with law, at the earliest, but positively within a period of eight weeks from the date of communication of a copy of this order.

The aforesaid respondent shall pass a reasoned order and communicate the same to the petitioner immediately thereafter.

The writ petition is disposed of.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon completion of usual legal formalities.
