Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that, petitioner assaulted the de facto complainant and snatched a sum of Rs.15,000/- and gold chain. Materials in the Case Diary suggest that, the petitioner before us is a local rowdy engaged in the act of extortion. Complicity of the petitioner requires investigation. Enlarging the petitioner on anticipatory bail will be inimical to such investigation.

In such circumstances, we are unable to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
