Heard learned counsels appearing on behalf of the parties.

The petitioner claims to be a land loser due to acquisition of some of his properties by the Government of West Bengal. The petitioner submitted an application for enlisting the name of his daughter under the exempted category for employment on November 23, 2022 which was not considered by the authority. The petitioner filed a further application before the concerned authority on January 13, 2023 requesting consideration of the earlier application dated November 23, 2022. Learned counsel for the petitioner seeks a direction upon the concerned authority to consider both the applications submitted by the petitioner at the earliest.

It is submitted on behalf of the respondents that the 5th respondent be directed to consider the applications submitted by the petitioner in accordance with law. In view of the above, the writ petition is disposed of directing the 5th respondent to consider the applications submitted by the petitioner dated November 23, 2022 and January 13, 2023 respectively within two months from the date of communication of this order upon affording reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, if required, in accordance with law.

The decision taken by the authority shall be communicated to the petitioner within a week thereof. In the event the applications are considered in favour of the daughter of the petitioner, necessary consequential steps be taken by the authority immediately thereafter.

With the above observations and directions this writ petition is disposed of.

There shall be, however, no order as to costs. Since no affidavit is invited, the allegations contained in the petition are deemed not to be admitted. Urgent certified website copy of this order, if applied for, be furnished to the parties upon compliance of necessary formalities.
