It is submitted on behalf of the petitioner that the petitioner is in custody for four years and five months and his prayer for bail was earlier rejected thrice.

The State submits that such prayer was rejected five times earlier.

The allegation against the petitioner is under Sections 302/201 of the Penal Code. The petitioner has been identified in T.I. Parade. He was also allegedly last seen together with the victim in the hotel room prior to her murder.

Having considered the material in the case diary including the statements of witnesses under Section 164 of the Code as well as the post mortem report of the victim, which indicates that the death was caused due to manual strangulation and in view of the gravity of the offence, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner, at this stage. The prayer for bail stands rejected.

However, considering the period of detention suffered by the petitioner, we request the learned Trial Court to conclude the trial as expeditiously as possible without granting any unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties, preferably within a period of one year from date.

C.R.M. No.4727 of 2021 is, thus, dismissed.
