The petitioner was serving as Assistant Teacher in Bhatakul Swarnamoyee High School, Burdwan.

She got transferred and joined Madanpur Kendriya Adarsha Vidyalaya in the year 2021. Her grievance is that her Service Book from the earlier school has neither been updated nor forwarded to the present school.

From the documents annexed to the writ petition, it appears that the previous school could not update the Service Book of the petitioner for want of certain documents.

There is a communication from the school, which suggests that the Service Book is in the custody of the petitioner.

The present school where the petitioner is serving also requires the Service Book of the petitioner for updating her records.

It appears that there is a dispute with regard to the custody of the Service Book.

Learned advocate for the petitioner denies that the petitioner has the Service Book or has kept the Service Book with her. It is the submission that the Service Book of the petitioner is lying in the previous school.

Fact remains that the petitioner is serving as a teacher and her service records are required to be updated.

As a dispute has cropped up with regard to the Service Book, accordingly, the District Inspector of Schools (S.E.), Purba Burdwan is directed to look into the issue and find out a solution to the problem that has cropped up.

If the Service Book of the petitioner is readily not available, then steps for reconstitution of the Service Book shall be taken by the District Inspector of Schools.

The petitioner is directed to hand over all necessary documents to the District Inspector of Schools for forwarding the same to the earlier school for preparation and updating her Service Book.

The petitioner and the management of the Bhatakul Swarnamoyee High School, Burdwan are directed to render all necessary cooperation with the District Inspector of Schools for the purpose of preparation of the Service Book in compliance of the direction passed hereinabove. 12.

Steps shall be taken to update the Service Book of the petitioner at the earliest but positively within a period of twelve weeks from the date of communication of this order.

After the Service Book of the petitioner is updated, the same shall be forwarded to the Madanpur Kendriya Adarsha Vidyalaya at Nadia without any further delay.

The writ petition stands disposed of.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order be supplied to the parties, if applied for, as early as possible.
