The grievance of the petitioner is that the petitioner has not been given a new electricity connection by the CESC Limited as per the application of the petitioner.

By placing reliance on the written communication of the CESC Limited dated December 16, 2021, annexed at page 12 of the writ petition, learned counsel for the CESC Limited argues that the CESC Limited has taken an objection as to the apprehended splitting of the existing load in case a new connection is given to the petitioner.

Since the matter is to be decided by the concerned Grievance Redressal Officer (in short "GRO"), as per the existing Regulations, WPA No. 10807 of 2023 is disposed of by granting

liberty to the petitioner to raise the dispute, as raised in the present writ petition, before the concerned GRO.

If so raised, the issue shall be decided by the GRO in accordance with law upon giving an opportunity of hearing to all concerned as expeditiously as possible, preferably within eight weeks from the date of such reference being made by the petitioner.

There will be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities.
