The petitioners who are mother and daughter, say that they have no role to play in the murder of the victim. They are neighbours of the victim. They are in custody for 312 days.

We have seen the statements of witnesses in the case diary. The witnesses specifically implicate the present petitioners. Apparently, there was a triangular love affair to which the petitioner no.1 and the victim were parties. The victim was murdered by the family of the petitioner no.1

because the victim and the family of the petitioner no.1 belong to different religions.

The petitioners say that the father of the petitioner no.1 Ashutosh Das has been enlarged on bail by the learned Trial Court. We find that it was so done on February 20, 2021. Subsequently, a co-ordinate Bench of this Court rejected the bail prayer of one Prasenjit Barik who appears to be similarly circumstanced as the present petitioners.

In view of the aforesaid and the nature and gravity of the alleged offence, we are not inclined to entertain the bail prayer of the petitioners, at this stage.

CRM 4688 of 2021 is, accordingly, dismissed.
