In compliance with the direction passed on January 29, 2024 in WPA 8666 of 2023, the Sub-Divisional Officer, Tamluk, District : Purba Medinipur, the respondent no.5 herein has initiated a proceeding under Section 3 of the West Bengal Public Land (Eviction of Unauthorized Occupants) Act, 1962 for removal of the alleged encroachments by the private respondents over the public land.

The petitioners are alleging inordinate delay in disposal of the said proceeding.

Learned Advocate for the State submits that the respondent no.5 has fixed July 10, 2025 as a final date for hearing of the said case.

The respondent no.5 is directed to bring the said proceeding to its logical conclusion as expeditiously as possible.

Since no affidavit has been invited, the allegations made in the writ petition are deemed to have been denied by the respondents.

WPA 10806 of 2025 is thus disposed of with the above terms without any order as to costs.

Urgent Photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties subject to compliance with all requisite formalities.
