This is an application for early disposal of G.R. Case No. 2815 of 2019 arising out of Baranagar Police Station Case No. 263 of 2019 dated June 2, 2019, under Sections 498A/354 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860.

Mr. Amajit De, learned advocate, appearing for the petitioner submits that though the charge sheet, in this case, has been filed in the year 2019, the trial could not be proceeded with due to the pandemic situation, it is not expected of the learned Magistrate in the court below to proceed with the trial at a normal pace, and the delay in proceeding with the trial cannot be attributed to the learned Magistrate.

However, keeping in mind the innocuous nature of the prayer, this revisional application is disposed of with a direction upon the learned Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Barrackpore, to make an

endeavour to conclude the trial as early as possible, preferably, within a period of one year from the date of resumption of the normal functioning of the court.

Accordingly, the revisional application being CRR 1446 of 2021 is disposed of.
