Mr. Sandipan Ganguly, Mr. Ramashis Mukherjee ...for the petitioner.

Mr. Saryati Datta ...for the State.

The petitioner says that he has been implicated because of political reasons. He is innocent.

Allegedly, commercial quantity of codeine mixture was recovered from the possession of the petitioner. In view of commercial quantity of contraband item being involved, we are not inclined to entertain the petitioner's prayer for bail. We also note that charge-sheet is yet to be submitted and investigation is in progress.

Accordingly, the application for bail being C.R.M. 4716 of 2021 is dismissed.
