Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the alleged recovery in the present case is 517 grams of brown sugar and the petitioner is in custody for about a year. Charge-sheet has already been submitted and charges have not been framed till date. Learned Public Prosecutor appearing for the State opposes the prayer for bail and submits that prosecution would put in efforts to expedite the trial considering that commercial quantity of the contraband has been seized.

Having considered that the witness action is yet to commence, I direct the learned trial Court to at least conclude the complainant, seizure list witness and the other independent witnesses, if any, within a period of six months. Petitioner would be at liberty to approach this Court after the aforesaid time period is over.

Accordingly, at this Stage, CRM (NDPS) 1035 of 2026 is dismissed.

All parties shall act in terms of server copy of the order downloaded from the official website of this Court. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
