Mr. Indranil Halder ...for the Petitioner Dr. Madhusudan Saha Roy ...for CESC 11-06-2025 AKG Ct. 15 The electricity connection of the petitioner, effected through Meter No. 2737709G, was disconnected on September 5, 2024, on the allegation of electricity theft. A final order of assessment was issued on September 24, 2024, directing the petitioner to pay a sum of ₹2,522/-. Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits that the petitioner is willing to deposit the finally assessed amount within one week from the date of this order.

In view of the above, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the CESC to restore the electricity connection immediately upon deposit of the assessed amount along with any incidental charges.

It is clarified that the present order is confined solely to Meter No. 2737709G. If there are any outstanding dues related to other meters, the CESC shall be at liberty to take appropriate steps in accordance with law.

Accordingly, WPA 10872 of 2025 is disposed of. Urgent certified website copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities.
