1. Affidavit-of-service filed in Court be taken on record.

2. At the time of hearing Mr. Chatterjee, learned Advocate appearing on behalf of the writ petitioner submits before this Court that after publication of the result of the last Legislative Assembly Election, the writ petitioner was compelled to leave his house within the territorial jurisdiction of P.S. Sankrail, District-Howrah on account of threat as received by him from the political party to which he did not belong. It is thus submitted that the appropriate writ/writs may be issued against the respondent authorities more specifically against the respondent No. 6 authority to grant adequate protection to the writ petitioner and his family members so that he can reside at his own premises.

3. Per contra, Mr.

Rajdeep Mazumder, learned Additional Advocate General appearing on behalf of the respondent State in course of his submission has

handed over a letter dated 26.05.2026 as received by the respondent No. 6 authority which is taken on record. It is submitted by Mr. Mazumder that from the instruction/letter dated 26.05.2026 it would reveal that the other family members of the writ petitioner are residing at the house of the writ petitioner situated at New Basti, Lichu Bagan, PODanesh Sk. Lane, PS-Sankrail, District-Howrah and as on this day there was no occasion which prevented the writ petitioner to reside at his premises mentioned above peacefully.

Considering the entire materials as placed before this Court and after hearing the learned advocates for the contending parties, this Court directs the respondent No.6 authority that in the event, the writ petitioner chooses to reside at his premises situated at New Basti, Lichu Bagan, PO-Danesh Sk. Lane, PSSankrail, District-Howrah, the respondent No. 6 authority shall ensure that the life and liberty of the writ petitioner must not be hampered by any unlawful means.

5. With the aforementioned observation, the instant writ petition is hereby disposed of.

6. Mr. Mazumder, learned Additional Advocate General appearing for the respondent State is hereby requested to communicate the server copy of this order to the respondent No.6 authority for his due compliance.
