The petitioners are senior citizens.

The allegation is that the son and daughter-inlaw of the petitioner no.1 constantly disturb the petitioners and threaten them. They are being forced to transfer the property. When the petitioners lodged a complaint, an enquiry was made and a prosecution under Section 107/116(3) of the Code of Criminal Procedure was submitted against the respondent nos.5&6.

As the respondent nos. 5&6 were continuing their alleged illegal acts, the petitioners approached the Inspector-in-Charge, Uttarpara Police Station. Uttarpara Police Station Case No.218 of 2022 dated June 16, 2022 was started against the said respondents under Section 341/323/325/354/506/34

of the Indian Penal Code, on the basis of the complaint lodged by the petitioner no.2.

Under such circumstances, although there is a civil dispute with regard to enjoyment of the property, this Court directs that the investigation already initiated must be reached to its logical conclusion, within a period of two months from date.

The police authorities shall ensure safety and security of the petitioners by maintaining a strict vigil in the locality.

This writ petition is disposed of.

However, there will be no order as to costs.

All the parties are directed to act on the basis of the server copy of this order.
