In the instant writ petition, the petitioner prays for de-freezing of his savings bank account being A/c No.0113010192856 pertaining to Punjab National Bank, Alambazar Branch.

Learned counsel for the bank submits, upon instructions, that the subject account of the petitioner is active and that transactions are being carried on.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that relying on KYC documents submitted by the petitioner, several other bank accounts are being operated by third parties from other branch of the bank at R.N. Mukherjee Road, Kolkata - 700 001. 4.

After hearing the parties, I direct the Branch Manager of Punjab National Bank, the seventh respondent herein, to ascertain the propriety of the allegation made by the petitioner. If the allegation of the petitioner appears to be correct, then necessary remedial steps shall be taken by the Branch Manager forthwith.

The writ petition stands disposed of.
